identifying terms and parts of an expression this is an algebraic expression and expression is something that can't be solved it's just something that can be simplify in this case we have -6x + 7 + 4 y - 12 + 3 x terms and parts of an expression so terms in an expression or all the little things separate by plus or minus sign this is a -6x the negative in front where has this is just an egg - 12 - 12 cuz it's in the back so negative minus no one to read which is which positive versus plus the same idea but if you read it read it out loud -6x + 7 + 4 y - 12 + 3 x notice the plus and minuses when you read help identify the terms it also separates the terms I do not read this as -6 * X I do not read this as negative for X Y or positive 3 x x I read it as -6 x or y 3x notice I don't think Lou that sir - so terms first things first is it helps to separate all your terms out so terms we have -6x 7 4y notice right here because it's plus the idea of positive I don't need to note the positive symbol with it at 7 for why but negative 12 always include a Wesner -
