all right we're trying to get you this lesson so a everybody can see it get through it I'm leaving the chat box open but if you decide to abused that issue this is your one warning I'm just going to kick you out of class so you stop bothering other people I will put it in Aries and call home either today or tomorrow did you guys paying attention to call on people so be ready so here it is all right lesson 3 identifying proportional and non-proportional relationships in tables so this sounds very technical but again like I told you guys why it's hard for a lot of people is the language they use you can read this you seen these words before what does it mean mass is always written in a technical speak the thing about it is learning how to translate it into something you understand so identifying identifying you prove how do you prove show or prove show or prove if something is proportional or non-proportional they split up to two specific things keep it simple proportional we already went to that where do a quick review of the stuff lesson 1 and 2 all the stuff you know proportion versus non-proportional yes vs no true vs. false of what a relationship in tables so we have data so relationships this is a table right here really come to this in a bit so how do you show proved true or false if everything in the table is proportional or not that's how simple it is but what's a relationship the relationship or how things are connect so it's how things are connected it has nothing to do with you know let's go with this you guys are in a household how is everybody connected in your household assembling a child and uncle and Aunt a cousin you know how are you connected to everybody there in this virtual classroom you are all interconnected that's a relation with everybody else turn the same. not waste use your memory to remember those I'm skipping this one for now what is 5 * 8 46 * 8 48 so all of these so I'm do this right here equals 8 that's how we got this from and then to find all of these right here y equals k x k x 8 * 1/8 * 2/8 * 3/8 * 4/8 * 5/8 * 6 that's why I K is called the constant proportionality you going to English class right now English brain constant if you can break down vocabulary words that's what it costs that means it's the same same for every single proportion it's the same number I multiply to every single number that's how you know you have a constant of proportionality X each one of these numbers the same thing so these are related to this relation by proportion by a multiple of 8 vocabulary I know this is not English class but understand it that's how you go all right I'm not sure if you saw in the participants if you don't have your name you're not coming in that person ready as their name and 1/2 * 806.5 * 8 * decimals is the easiest thing quick review multiply by decimals you know what you do to the X decimals ignore the decimal but you still put it in your algorithm you still put it in your algorithm 6.5 eight six 5 times 8 but when count the decimal places I got one decimal place here to decimal places here decimal it's 3 So my answer needs to have three decimal places 123 that means my decimals right here at 1233 decimals learn to use math terms so you start down here and then you go up now when you change it to a fraction what's the denominator for your fraction it's always the same that doesn't change over to what person's good numerator which is one Sol 2 * 488 + 1 9/2 so that's our fraction 9/2 I'll do another example this in a second I just want to finish this first then we take that multiply fractions we teach multiplying fractions before adding and subtracting because it's the easiest thing to do and division division is just two extra steps for multiplying will go to that I need to get there by multiplying fractions we take when we were supposed to eight time is 8 * k k x x this is our new X and equivalent version of that so I'm put that right there equals 9/2 sorry using that that's where the 9/2 comes from so it's RK which is 8 time 9/2 multiplying fractions is easy but that's not fractions plural anybody does anybody remember how to change any number that's not a fraction into a fractions if they can be simplified you should see even though we had it as 72 over to go back to our notes another way to write 72/2 is to read it as 72 / 2 does anybody know what 22 / 2 is stop for a second there's a way to check your answer 4 5/4 + 1/2 is between there so are answering needs to be between 32 and 40 less than 40 more n-32 what is 72 / to anyone 36 good job I'm not going to write 72 / 2 36 instead we can match up everything refilled in our chart here's how you fill in the chart you find your K they gave us the K and if we're looking all that's one thing that we easy one person
