McKinney-Vento Education of Homeless Children and Youth Assistance Act
The McKinney - Vento Act is a federal law that ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for homeless children and youth. The McKinney - Vento Act defines homeless children and youth as "individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence." The OMI MV Liaison is housed in the Cadet Services Office.
Services include:
- School liaison
- Access to Academic Support/Tutoring on-site (if needed)
- Transportation Assistance, (if needed)
- Access to Parent Education Workshops
- Assistance with Enrollment and Transfers
- Transcript Analysis
- Assistance in Obtaining Supplemental Educational Materials, (if needed)
- Assistance in Obtaining Community Resources, (if needed)
