ENGINEERING/STEM STUDENTS: LEHIGH UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES FREE TUITION PROGRAM

lehigh

Last Friday, Lehigh University announced the Lehigh Commitment—a pledge to make a transformative Lehigh education even more accessible for scholars from all backgrounds. All admitted students with a family income of less than $75,000 (and typical assets) will receive the Lehigh Commitment full tuition grant.

What is the Lehigh Commitment?

Full Tuition Coverage: Students will be provided with a grant equivalent to, or greater than, the cost of full tuition.

Funded Opportunities: Lehigh offers many existing programs to support the academic success of its students:

Career Preparation: The Center for Career and Professional Development provides support for students with career education and professional development, and provides opportunities for students to connect with employers and alumni through mentorship, internships and interviews.

In addition to the new Lehigh Commitment, the university has met the full demonstrated need for admitted students—regardless of family income—for the last eight years, and has increased the number of merit scholarships that they have offered to admitted students. More than 30% of the admitted students for 2023-24 year received a merit scholarship of $15,000 or more per year. There is no separate application, or earlier application deadline for the majority of our merit scholarships—only an application is needed for our Performing Arts scholarships in musictheatre, and our Soaring Together Scholarship Program.

Lehigh provides an application fee waiver to any student for whom paying this fee is a hardship

COLLEGES WITH FREE TUITION

The price of secondary education has skyrocketed within the last decade. While dual enrollment is a great way to bring equity into the picture, colleges are realizing that they need to do more to close the gap. Thank you to our amazing College and Career Counselor, Tim Murray, for finding these resources that help guide students to institutions with free tuition options.
