I am so excited to teach your cadet this year.  We have so much to look forward to with the addition of three new electives:  criminal justice, psychology and forensic psychology.

A little about me....
I am a mother of three and grandmother of two.
I have been teaching in some capacity for over 20 years.  Before coming to Oakland Military Institute,
I was a college educator and still enjoy teaching evening classes at the college level.  I have a
Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Forensic Psychology and enough units
to teach statistics at the college level.  During my graduate program I focused on the inequities
in the Criminal Justice System and wrote my thesis on Biases found during the Death Penalty process.
After teaching college for several years I started substitute teaching at the middle and high school level.
I found I loved this age group and went back to get my Single Subject Teaching Credential in the
Social Sciences.  Upon completion of my teaching credential I was assigned to student teach
at OMI and I have worked here ever since.  I love teaching at Oakland Military Institute and over
the last 8+ years have been fortunate to teach the students in several different courses, at several
different grade levels, and have watched these amazing cadets grow from 7th graders to the amazing
seniors that will graduate and go on to do great things leading to successful endeavors in each of their futures.
