What is #GivingTuesday?

A global campaign to bring people together for a day of giving. Founded in 2012 and today celebrated by millions of people around the world on Tuesday after Thanksgiving or at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. This year, it is on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. The idea is to use the collective power of individuals, families, communities and organizations to encourage giving and to celebrate generosity. GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts - no matter how small or large - and that they mean even more when we give together.

 

Oakland Military Institute is joining the global #GivingTuesday movement to raise funds to purchase additional materials and resources teachers need to help our cadets succeed academically. Our teachers do not get a stipend to purchase classroom necessities and some choose to use their own money to purchase these materials.
