My name is Aqeel Ahmed, I started working with OMI in 2018 as a supply assistant. Currently, I’m the TAC NCO for Bravo Co. 11 grade and I am honored to have the privilege of teaching students and helping them succeed in school and real life.

I grew up overseas and earned my bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Baghdad in 2014. Currently, I’m working on getting my master’s degree majoring in intelligence studies. I have lived most of my life in a warzone and witnessed the urge for good education and children’s need for essential support. Being trilingual enabled me to communicate and share my knowledge and experience with young ones and their guardians in the community. Helping each child progress in all areas of their academic development, social and language is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily.  I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment.

My teaching philosophy is very simple, I believe every classroom has its unique community; my role as the teacher will be to assist each child in developing their potential and learning styles. I will present a curriculum that will incorporate writing to each different learning style, as well as make the content relevant to the students' lives. I will incorporate cooperative learning, projects, themes, and individual work that engage and activate students’ learning.
