Oakland Military Institute is proud to announce that 41 of our cadets represented the school in the Black Cowboy Parade, hosted by the Oakland Black Cowboy Association. This meaningful event celebrates the rich contributions of Black cowboys and cowgirls in shaping the American West—an often untold chapter of American history.
Our cadets joined the community in honoring this legacy of resilience and preserving these important stories for future generations. Thank you to all the cadets who marched with pride and excellence, representing OMI's commitment to service, community, and education.

We hope to see you this coming Saturday at the U.N. Flag Raising Ceremony at Jack London Square. We have 120 cadets signed up to participate, and this event is open to all families and community members.
