Speech and Debate (Period 1)

Speech & Debate class is focused on providing opportunities for Cadet's to demonstrate the characteristics of a College and Career Individual. I define a College and Career Ready Individual as a self directed learner who is resilient, that values evidence and uses technology strategically, that understands other perspectives and has strong content knowledge. Furthermore the College and Career Ready Individual comprehends, critiques and can respond to varying demands of audience task and purpose. These characteristics are vital for those leaving universal mandated education and entering a complex and ever-changing world. Cadet's are provided with weekly opportunities to exercise some, if not all, of these characteristics through skill and content work.
