English 6 Period 7 Assignments

Read about how the First Amendment protects five freedoms: religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.
SECOND click on the Google form titled "English Final" and complete the test!

THIS IS DUE WEDNESDAY, MAY 27. NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Choose a friend, relative, neighbor, or community member that could use some additional company during this shelter in place lifestyle. Set up a time to either video chat or phone chat with the person and see how they are doing. YOU will interview them, asking them the following questions:

1. How has this pandemic affected your main work/ life activities?
2. How is your family and/ or how are those around you?
3. How are you coping?
4. What are your expectations for work/life in the coming months?
5. What positive results do you see coming out of all of this?
6. Is there anything I can do to help you with your daily life? For example. check in weekly or set up a zoom?

You will then write up the interview. (write down who you interviewed)
(Each question should have at least 4-5 sentences from the persons response. )

Then write a reflection on how people, including yourself, are getting through this pandemic (1 paragraph)

Write on a google document and turn in on google classroom.
Assignments DUE ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2020.

Now that you have learned some history of music, listened to a couple of songs, and shared your favorite song with me, I want you to create a "vision board" quarantine poster.
Your poster can be on a simple piece of paper (aka whatever you have in your household!)
Make your poster colorful! (colored pens, pencils, stickers, pictures etc)
The poster should include;
- the song lyric that you shared with me that you can relate to. (write it down on the poster)
-include 5 positive characteristics that describe you! (examples: adventurous, caring, smart etc... )
- include 3 emojis that describe you (print or draw them!)
- draw or print out 2 activities you do since shelter in place. (ex. yoga, reading, running, listening to music etc)

We will also be sharing these "posters" on our zoom meeting next Thursday, May 7 along with playing your favorite song.

Our class ZOOM with be on THURSDAY, MAY 7. TIME: 1pm

3) Listen to the song, "Bright" by Kehlani and write down what you think the song means. How does sound/lyrics make you feel. (we will be discussing this on zoom)
4) Next, write down the title of the song that you listen to that you feel you can relate to or means something to you. Then write down three reasons why and write down your favorite lyric from that song. (Please leave curse words out if there are any.)
