COVID - 19 Safety Tips

While school is closed, the students and staff of OMI, and all members of the public, should continue taking basic measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses:
  • Wash hands with liquid soap and water and rub for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your face, particularly your eyes, nose, and mouth, with unwashed hands.
  • Isolate individuals who are ill, especially if they have a fever.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces routinely.
  • Get a flu shot to protect yourself and others from the flu, which has similar symptoms to COVID-19.

If you or someone in your care begins to exhibit the symptoms of COVID-19, especially individuals with chronic health issues, please follow CDC guidance and call a healthcare professional. Your healthcare professional will work with your public health department and the CDC to determine if you need to be tested for COVID-19. If your student has a lab confirmed case of COVID-19 please communicate with the Principal immediately.

For the latest and most reliable information about COVID-19, visit the Alameda County Public Health Department website at http://www.acphd.org/, the San Francisco Public Health Department website at http://www.sfdph.org, and the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/
