As the current HR Director here at the Oakland Military Institute, I can say that in this phase of my career I truly love what I'm doing. I strive to find the best and the brightest to work with our students here at the OMI through this difficult time in education. The shortage of teaching professionals is disappointing as people aren't choosing to go into teaching in large numbers but those still out there interested in working with the youth of today have an incredible zest for teaching and learning that is easy to spot and it is a real win to bring them into the OMI family. I am also dedicated to working closely with all staff to establish long-lasting relationships built on trust and professionalism.
As a Gael for life! Ms. Noble is a St. Mary’s college graduate who decided to study Human Resource Management in graduate school when she was instantly intrigued at the thought of managing employees in a school. That involves hiring, training, and motivating employees. This is something that truly interested her. The idea of contributing behind the scenes at a school to integrate, recruit, staff, provide benefits and compensation, and maintain compliance felt like something she was meant to do. Sonja has been a member of the Oakland Military Institute family since its inaugural year in 2001. For 19 years, Sonja has been dedicated to helping OMI move forward providing free quality education, to interested California youth and their families.
