Hello, my name is SPC Rickert, Monterey V. I was born on June 13, 1990 in a remote town in Russia. At the ripe age of 8, I was adopted by an American couple and brought to America. I graduated high school in 2009, did two years of Community College studying Civil Engineering and working full time. Although I did not finish my college career, I look forward to going back in the near future and obtaining a BA in Computer Science.
At the age of 21 I decided to join the Armed Forces and enlisted with the California Army National Guard as a Blackhawk mechanic. My job as a helicopter mechanic provided me with new skills, personal growth, and gave me a new perspective on life and what I wanted to do for a career. It also provided me with the opportunities to fight forest fires along side CAL FIRE by providing air support via water bucket drops as well as allowing me to obtain a job working alongside our youth and future leaders here at Oakland Military Institute.
I have been a support Specialist at Oakland Military Institute since 2014. This year I am the Support TAC team member for Delta Company. I look forward to working with all of the Cadets who have been assigned to Delta Company and push each and everyone of them to be the best Cadets they can be. This year we have a great Military TAC Team who are dedicated and love what we do, and that is above all, instilling greatness in each and every Cadet we encounter!
