Annelie Pate is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Louisiana Sate University in 2009 getting her Bachelor in Fine Art in studio art with a concentration in photography and an art history minor. After college, she lived in Abu Dhabi for 6 months, documenting the different states of the U.A.E. and Oman. She moved to the Bay in the summer of 2012 and worked as a freelance photographer. Needing more fulfillment, she began volunteering at Berkeley High School with the black and white photography program and fell in love with the idea of becoming a teacher. In 2015 she received her teaching credential from California State University, East Bay. She taught digital photography and yearbook at Pittsburg High School for 3 years and now happy to be at Oakland Military Institute teaching high school art. At OMI, she is teaching students as many forms as art as possible including painting, drawing, color theory, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and installation artwork.
