The Oakland Military Institute College Preparatory Academy uses the California Cadet Corps curriculum to give young men and women the self-discipline and motivation to excel in the classroom and the community. The California Cadet Corps is the oldest school-based youth leadership development program in the United States. Founded in 1911, the Cadet Corps develops leadership, citizenship, scholarship, patriotism, and health/wellness using basic military structure. Every student at OMI is a cadet in the California Cadet Corps and expected to live up to high standards of conduct.
