Admissions Process for the 2012-2013 school year (1) Application: • A complete APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION (including supporting documents) should be submitted as early as possible, but NO LATER THAN the regular deadline of Monday, April 30, 2012 at 4:00PM. • Return the application and documents to the OMI Admissions Office. • Applications received or completed after the regular deadline will be considered only if additional enrollment capacity remains after all timely completed applications have been processed. (2) Interview: Each applicant is required to participate in an interview with a member of the OMI Admissions Staff as a means to helping each applicant understand the high academic and behavioral expectations of OMI. (3) Entrance Orientation: • Parents and students must attend an Entrance Orientation on Saturday, June 2, 2012.
• Incoming 6th grade at 8:00am • At this meeting expectations for Entrance Camp are explained. There
is also a discussion about the initiative, motivation, strength of
character, integrity, leadership and commitment required to succeed in a
college preparatory program. • Incoming 7th and 8th grade at 9:30am • Incoming 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade at 11:00am (4) Entrance Camp: • Applicants are required to successfully complete the OMI Entrance Camp, from July 6-13, 2012. • Attendance at Entrance Camp is not optional. • Successful completion of the summer program is the final requirement to becoming an OMI student. Lottery Policy: Except for existing pupils at OMI who will fill out an “Intent to Re-enroll” form, if the number of students applying exceeds the number of spaces available for the 2012-2013 school year, a public random lottery will be held to select randomly those applicants who will be considered for acceptance. The lottery if needed will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 in Battalion Hall on the OMI campus at 4:00pm. The Public is welcome to attend. A notification about whether the lottery will be posted to the OMI website at www.oakmil.org by 8:00am on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Have more questions?
